Faith causes technical issues · 653 days ago by Matisjahu

Matisyahu has a problem, apparently as his talents win over fans in larger and larger numbers its causing problems with his schedule.

You see Matisyahu’s jewish faith forbids him from doing shows ln the Sabbath, as well as Friday Nights and Saturday at any time before sunset.

He explains the problam as saying “We do play Saturday night, but that’s getting harder because we’re playing bigger arenas (and) I can’t ask people to work for me before sundown, so soundcheck and stage setup is tricky.”

Matisyahu Asks Concertgoes To Pray · 745 days ago by Matisjahu

Matisyahu isn’t shy about his jewish faith, in fact he invites Jewish fans to join him backstage before the show to pray alongside him.

At a recent concert he sent his manager to go out into the audience in search of people wearing yarmulkes and invite them backstage to for a pray circle.

Matisyahu, whose real name is Matthew Miller says, “That’s called a minyan, it means 10 people praying together.”

Personally I don’t think theirs anything wrong with Matisyahu observing his beliefs though I can imagine their are a few people out their who would see this as favortism.

In any event its his show so he can do as he pleases same as those who disagree don’t have to buy tickets, I for one intend to keep going.

King Without A Crown Music Video · 775 days ago by Matisjahu

Checkout this decent quality music video of Matisyahu performing his hit “king Without A Crown”

The lyrics are well done and the production effort is definately top notch though its definately very different from most “rap” people are used to, its almost oldschool with a twist.
